Xenophobia

Barry Humphries once defined xenophobia as ‘a love of Australia’. If you really love Australia, then you’ll be very happy in SA.

South Australia is more culturally diverse than Tasmania, and that’s it. To paraphrase, South Australia is the whitest state in the whitest continent: according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, even New Zealanders keep away from SA. It’s a solidly Anglo-Saxon state, with just a few Italians to run the fish and chip shops and a spattering of Nazis hiding out in the Adelaide Hills…

Oh, and there’s still a few surviving remnants of the native population: they haven’t fared too well, on the whole. [CG]
